Here are our top tips to keep your Credit History healthy and improve a poor history.

Electoral Register – Make sure your current address is the registered address with your local council.

Payments – Keep on track with your payments. Make sure you pay them on time. If you have any outstanding payments, make sure you pay them off first. This includes registering for rent reporting with CreditLadder!

Credit Accounts – Think carefully before opening any new credit accounts. Try to avoid opening multiple accounts in a short period of time.

Credit Limits – Try and stay well below your agreed credit limit (e.g. if your credit card limit is £1000, try to keep the balance below £500).

Credit Searches – Try to avoid making multiple applications in a short period of time.

Remember, each bank and lender calculates their own version of your credit score rather than using a credit agencies Credit Score.
